Yolk Recruitment are supporting a leading manufacturing business in Pontypool who are looking to recruit a Junior Electrical Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified Engineer to join a stable, growing business and develop your knowledge through structured training and support.

As a Junior Electrical Technician, you'll be part of the site Engineering team, reporting into the Engineering Management structure. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production equipment and site services.
  • Diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency.
  • Accurately completing maintenance documentation, service reports and updating maintenance systems.
  • Supporting continuous improvement activities and contributing technical ideas to improve reliability and performance.
  • Working closely with production, engineering and external contractors to ensure safe, efficient operation of the plant.
  • Helping to maintain key services such as electricity and compressed air and ensuring they meet operational requirements.

You'll be a practical, hands-on engineer with a strong multiskilled background and experience in a fast-moving manufacturing environment. You will hold a BTEC/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.

This is a permanent role with an established manufacturing business with great financial backing, offering the opportunity to work on a variety of equipment in a modern, high-volume plant. The supportive Engineering team focuses on safety, reliability and continuous improvement, with ongoing training and development opportunities.
