Yolk Recruitment is excited to be supporting a highly reputable and rapidly growing food manufacturing organisation in Haverfordwest, Wales. Following significant multimillion-pound investment into new processing lines, automation upgrades, and enhanced control systems, they are now seeking an Instrumentation & Control Engineer to strengthen their engineering function and enhance automation performance across the site.

Position Overview
As an Instrumentation & Control Engineer, you will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and optimising the site's automation and control systems. You will support new equipment integration, enhance the reliability of automated processes, and ensure the smooth running of production through strong fault-finding and engineering expertise.

This is what you'll be doing:
- Maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Enhancing OEE and reducing downtime through improved automation performance.
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical, control, and instrumentation issues in a highly automated facility.
- Supporting commissioning and integration of new processing lines and automation upgrades.
- Using data analysis to identify performance gaps and implement effective engineering solutions.
- Ensuring all engineering activities meet strict health & safety and food-industry compliance standards.
- Working collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality teams to support operational excellence.
The experience you'll bring to the team:
- Previous experience in automation, instrumentation, controls, or engineering within a manufacturing or food production environment.
- Strong fault-finding ability across PLCs, instrumentation, sensors, and electrical control systems.
- Experience analysing engineering data and implementing technical improvements.
- Recognised engineering qualifications (Instrumentation, Electrical, Automation, or equivalent).
- Ability to work proactively and deliver results in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
