The Role


As Account Manager, you will act as the key commercial contact for a portfolio of strategic accounts and distributor networks.


You will be responsible for developing and executing account plans, identifying new business opportunities, managing the sales pipeline and forecasts, and working collaboratively across the business to deliver an excellent customer experience.


This role would suit someone who enjoys a consultative sales environment and is confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels, from sales representatives and purchasing teams through to senior management and business owners.


Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and implement strategic account plans to drive revenue, volume, gross margin and market share growth.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.

  • Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities within existing and new customer segments.

  • Lead regular business reviews with strategic customers and partners, using commercial data and market insight to identify opportunities and manage risk.

  • Work closely with distributor sales teams through coaching, training, joint customer visits and account planning.

  • Develop and deliver customer growth initiatives, marketing campaigns and promotional activity.

  • Analyse market trends, customer requirements, competitor activity and pricing to identify commercial opportunities.

  • Own sales forecasting, pipeline management and opportunity tracking.

  • Manage commercial negotiations around pricing, contracts, annual business plans and strategic agreements.

  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Product Management and Finance.

  • Act as the primary commercial contact for assigned strategic accounts, ensuring strong customer satisfaction, retention and loyalty.

  • Support the identification and development of new distributor partnerships and wider market opportunities.

  • Represent the business at customer meetings, trade exhibitions and industry events.

  • Ensure agreed customer actions, projects and commercial commitments are delivered within required timescales.

  • Effectively manage and resolve significant customer issues and commercial risks.


What We're Looking For


The ideal candidate will have:



  • Proven experience managing a technical or service-related product portfolio.

  • Strong account management and commercial sales experience.

  • Experience developing existing accounts while also identifying and converting new business opportunities.

  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to balance customer requirements, profitability and long-term business objectives.

  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience managing strategic accounts and delivering account growth plans.

  • Strong sales forecasting, pipeline and opportunity management experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including confident presentation abilities.

  • A proactive, resilient and results-driven approach.

  • The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of a customer organisation.

  • Experience working within a technical product environment is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of the dental market would be advantageous but is not essential.


Working Environment


The role is based in the office 3-4 days per week, with regular travel required as part of the role. You can expect approximately 30%+ travel, depending on customer and business requirements.

  • Β£45,000 basic salary

  • 15% annual bonus
