MERITUS are recruiting for multiple General Operators to join our client in Bolton on initial 12 month contracts with opportunities to go through security clearances and develop their careers. We are looking for candidates with experience in: LOOMING, MICROELECTRONICS, PLASTICS, CCAs and we are also looking for Lineside Manufacturing Controllers.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in electrical, electronic, or mechanical manufacturing environments to develop long-term careers within a highly regulated, high-technology industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out hands-on manufacturing, assembly, and inspection activities in line with engineering drawings, build instructions, and quality standards within controlled production environments, adhering strictly to health, safety, and security procedures.
  • Assemble, route, terminate, and inspect components depending on skillset and assigned area.
  • Maintain accurate production records, build documentation, and traceability.
  • Identify and report defects, non-conformances, or process issues to supervisors or quality teams.
  • Work collaboratively within production teams to meet delivery targets and schedules.
Skill Areas & Experience Sought
  • Looming: Cable loom manufacture, routing, and termination; Crimping, soldering, bonding, and connector assembly; Ability to read wiring diagrams and harness drawings.
  • Microelectronics: Fine assembly of electronic components; Soldering to IPC Johnny standards; Working under microscopes in ESD-controlled environments.
  • CCAs (Circuit Card Assemblies): Assembly, inspection, and rework of electronic circuit boards; Through-hole and surface-mount component handling; Awareness of IPC workmanship standards.
  • Plastics: Assembly and finishing of plastic components; Working with moulded parts and adhesives; Inspection and quality control of precision plastic assemblies.
  • Lineside Manufacturing Controllers: Coordinating materials, tooling, and documentation at the production line; Supporting production flow, scheduling, and kit readiness; Liaising with stores, planning, and manufacturing teams to minimise delays.
