MERITUS are recruiting for a Manufacturing Technical Shopfloor Engineer to join our client in Broughton on an initial 12 month contract. Please note, the role will be operating a double day shift pattern but will be paying a shift premium for doing so.
The role sits within an operational manufacturing team and is responsible for supporting production enablement, resolving technical issues, improving operational performance and driving continuous improvement activities across the shopfloor environment. The successful candidate will act as a key interface between manufacturing operations, engineering and production leadership, ensuring technical issues are resolved efficiently while maintaining product quality, safety and production continuity. This position requires a hands-on manufacturing engineering professional with strong problem-solving capability, experience operating within production environments and the ability to support fast-paced operational delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Support day-to-day production activities within manufacturing and assembly operations.
- Work closely with production teams and frontline operational leadership to resolve technical and process-related issues.
- Support identification, analysis and resolution of manufacturing non-conformances.
- Provide technical support to enable production continuity and minimise operational disruption.
- Act as a key interface between manufacturing operations and wider engineering functions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
- Support process optimisation and manufacturing performance improvement activities.
- Ensure activities are conducted in line with product safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
- Support operational problem-solving activities across automated and production systems.
- Contribute to reduction of recurring defects and production inefficiencies.
- Support implementation of manufacturing and engineering changes where required.
- Experience within manufacturing engineering or production support environments.
- Strong understanding of regulated manufacturing operations and production constraints.
- Experience supporting shopfloor technical problem-solving activities.
- Knowledge of non-conformance management and production quality processes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work autonomously within fast-moving operational environments.
