MERITUS are recruiting for an Industrial Assembly Engineer to work night shifts for a large Aerospace business currently experiencing growth in Broughton, Flintshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing engineer with strong industrial assembly knowledge to play a key role in the development, deployment, and optimisation of manufacturing technologies, with a particular focus on drilling and fastening equipment and processes. You will work across a technically complex production environment, driving process improvement, supporting capital investment projects, and delivering engineering solutions that improve manufacturing performance, quality, and efficiency.
Night shift - 30% shift allowance on top of hourly rate Monday to Thursday 8:45pm - 6:00am
Key Responsibilities- Support the deployment and optimisation of manual and semi-automated drilling and fastening equipment
- Define and develop new industrial assembly equipment and manufacturing processes
- Provide technical support and engineering ownership for existing manufacturing machinery
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations
- Deliver manufacturing engineering projects to agreed cost, quality, and delivery targets
- Collaborate with operational teams, engineering functions, suppliers, and key stakeholders across the wider business
- Develop and document process improvements to enhance productivity and manufacturing capability
- Support manufacturing methods and process engineering activities
- Manage capital investment and industrial improvement projects
- Drive Environmental, Health & Safety improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes
- Support technical activities relating to advanced drilling and fastening systems

Essential Experience- Strong manufacturing engineering background within a production environment
- Experience supporting industrial assembly processes
- Knowledge of drilling and/or fastening technologies
- Strong technical problem-solving and analytical capability
- Experience delivering engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- High attention to detail with a structured, methodical approach
- Aerospace or advanced manufacturing sector experience
- Knowledge of large structural assembly processes
- Experience supporting automated or semi-automated manufacturing equipment
- Degree qualified in Engineering (or equivalent)
