MERITUS is excited to be working with a leading Aerospace Manufacturing business based in Southampton, they are looking to appoint an Engineering Manager to join their team. This opportunity is ideal for a Manufacturing Engineer or Mechanical Engineer looking to step up into an Engineering Management role, taking ownership of manufacturing processes and driving operational excellence. You will play a key role at the interface of engineering, quality, and production, ensuring products are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with AS9100 standards, while leading continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead manufacturing engineering activities and support production operations
- Develop and maintain manufacturing route cards, work instructions, and process documentation
- Translate engineering designs into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes
- Support NPI, industrialisation, and process validation activities
- Drive improvements in OEE and support TPM initiatives
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, supporting audits, FAIR, and RRCA activities
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or similar within aerospace or regulated manufacturing
- Proven ability or readiness to step into an Engineering Manager / leadership role
- Strong knowledge of AS9100 and manufacturing process control
- Experience with route cards, process validation, and structured problem-solving (RRCA / 8D)
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and GD&T
- Project management experience and strong stakeholder communication skills
