Opportunity: Family Solicitor/Lawyer
Location: Cirencester | Hybrid and Flexible Working
Salary: Up to £80,000 + Bonus
Some firms offer great work but expect long hours. Others offer flexibility but the work can feel repetitive. This opportunity genuinely offers both! We’re working with a long‑established, highly respected Cotswolds law firm that has built an excellent reputation for looking after both its clients and its people. They’re now looking to welcome a Family Solicitor into their friendly and collaborative team. The work is varied, interesting and often more complex than you’d typically expect from a regional practice.
Alongside divorce and private children matters, you’ll advise on high‑quality financial remedy cases involving family businesses, farming interests, substantial property portfolios, inherited wealth, trusts and pensions. Working closely with the firm’s well‑regarded Private Client, Property and Agricultural teams means you’ll regularly be involved in matters with real technical depth.
What really sets this firm apart, though, is the culture. There’s no expectation of presenteeism, no unnecessary hierarchy and no egos. People are trusted to manage their own workload, supported to develop their careers and encouraged to enjoy a work‑life balance. It’s a firm where people tend to stay and that speaks for itself.
The Opportunity
This is a broad private family role where you’ll advise clients on:
- Divorce and separation
- Financial remedy matters
- Child arrangements, including both negotiated settlements and contested proceedings
- Cohabitation and separation agreements
- Pre and post‑nuptial agreements
- Cases involving business assets, farming interests, trusts and property portfolios
The team is particularly keen to speak with someone who enjoys children work and is confident managing child arrangement matters from initial advice through to resolution, whether by negotiation or litigation.
Who They Are Looking For
The firm is open‑minded when it comes to experience. Whether you’re around 2 years’ PQE and looking for the next step in your career, or you’re a much more experienced Family Solicitor seeking a supportive environment where you can continue to do high‑quality work, we would love to hear from you. For them, it’s far more about finding the right person than ticking boxes. They’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience in private family law
- Comfortable handling child arrangement matters
- Enjoys building strong client relationships
- Values collaboration and being part of a close‑knit team
- Wants to develop their career in a firm where people enjoy coming to work
What Is in It for You?
- Discretionary fee‑earner bonus scheme
- Additional summer and Christmas bonuses (subject to firm performance)
- Hybrid working (50% office / 50% home)
- Flexible working arrangements
- Private healthcare
- Free parking
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays + birthday leave + Christmas shutdown
- 3% pension contribution
- Death in service cover
- Legal advice benefit
- Family friendly policies
- Summer & winter socials
If you’re looking for quality private family work, a supportive team and the opportunity to handle interesting, varied matters without sacrificing your work‑life balance, this could be exactly what you’ve been looking for!
