Senior Cyber Analyst/Vulnerability Manager – up to £47,500 – Hybrid (Cardiff)

The Opportunity

Yolk Recruitment Public Sector & Not-for-Profit team partners with a specialised Civil Service Organisation seeking to expand their cyber security team.

This key hire will take lead on the vulnerability management lifecycle across cloud and application areas.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to cyber risk assessments, working with senior colleagues to identify threats, vulnerabilities and control gaps.
  • Lead the vulnerability management lifecycle across cloud workloads, endpoints and applications.
  • Support security operations by reviewing alerts, triaging security events and escalating incidents as required.
  • Support secure configuration baselines for cloud services, endpoints and network infrastructure (e. g., CIS benchmarks).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to embed security considerations into day‑to‑day operations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a cyber security analyst (or equivalent) in a mid‑to‑large sized organisation.
  • Practical experience in vulnerability management – assessing, triaging and prioritising vulnerabilities across varied technology stacks.
  • Hands‑on experience with Microsoft security tools such as Defender for Cloud, Defender for Endpoint, Secure Score and Sentinel.
  • Security certifications (e. g., CISMP, Security+, Azure security certs, ISO 27001 qualifications) or equivalent evidence of experience.
