What you'll be doing
As the HR & Payroll Clerk, you'll provide day-to-day support across payroll and HR administration, ensuring employees receive an excellent service while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
Your responsibilities will include
- Processing weekly and/or monthly payroll accurately and on time.
- Managing starters, leavers, contract amendments and payroll changes.
- Administering pensions, statutory payments and payroll deductions.
- Maintaining accurate employee records and HR documentation.
- Supporting recruitment administration, including arranging interviews and onboarding new employees.
- Preparing contracts of employment, offer letters and other HR correspondence.
- Monitoring annual leave, sickness absence and other employee records.
- Assisting managers with HR administration and policy queries.
- Supporting disciplinary, grievance and absence management processes from an administrative perspective.
- Producing payroll and HR reports as required.
- Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, payroll regulations and internal policies.
- Supporting wider finance and administration duties when required.
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in both payroll and HR administration.
- Good understanding of payroll processes and statutory payroll requirements.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience using payroll and HR systems would be advantageous.
- A proactive approach with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
