Yolk Recruitment is exclusively representing a leading UK manufacturer looking for an electrically biased Maintenance Technician to join its established engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a forward-thinking manufacturing environment that continues to invest in automation, technology, and plant reliability. You will work across a three-shift pattern and play a key role in keeping production running safely and efficiently.
What You'll Do:
- Respond to electrical and mechanical breakdowns across production machinery and the wider facility
- Complete planned preventative maintenance activities to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime
- Diagnose and repair faults involving PLC systems, CNC machinery, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Use your electrical maintenance knowledge to identify faults and deliver effective, lasting repairs
- Support engineering improvement projects and the introduction of new technology
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering colleagues to maintain plant reliability
- Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently
What You'll Bring:
- At least 10 years' experience in a Maintenance Technician or similar engineering position
- A strong electrical maintenance background
- Experience working with PLC and CNC systems, although additional training can be provided where required
- A minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
- An HNC or equivalent higher-level engineering qualification would be advantageous
- Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment
- A proactive and adaptable approach to fault finding and problem-solving
- Confidence making decisions while responding to engineering issues
- An interest in developing your skills and progressing over the long term
