Yolk Recruitment are partnered with a successful and well-established food and drink manufacturer based near Hereford who have been making premium award-winning products since 1880. They are searching for a Lead Transport Planner to play a vital leadership role in keeping their operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading the day-to-day planning and optimisation of a UK-wide multi-drop, multi-day delivery fleet.
- Scheduling fleet movements, driver and shunter rotas, supplier collections, internal transfers and third-party collections.
- Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely, on time, in full and in compliance with transport legislation and drivers' hours regulations.
- Monitoring transport performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and maximising fleet utilisation while reducing operational costs.
- Communicating effectively with drivers, warehouse teams, suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders to respond to changing operational demands.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in transport planning, fleet scheduling or logistics operations within a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK road transport legislation, drivers' hours regulations and transport compliance requirements.
- Experience optimising fleet utilisation, improving operational efficiency and delivering high service levels.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating effectively across drivers, operational teams, suppliers and customers.
