We are working with a leading aviation organisation to recruit an experienced Maintenance Manager to take responsibility for the effective management and oversight of both Line and Base operations. The successful candidate will lead engineering personnel, oversee maintenance performance, support planning and resource allocation, and work closely with Compliance Monitoring to ensure the continued effectiveness of the maintenance operation.

  • Oversee and support all areas of Base and Line Maintenance activities
  • Manage the day to day performance and operational discipline of the Engineering Department
  • Support the planning of scheduled maintenance, ensuring suitable personnel, tooling, equipment and materials are available
  • Ensure aircraft maintenance is carried out in accordance with approved work specifications, regulatory requirements and company procedures
  • Oversee and manage subcontracted maintenance providers where required
  • Work closely with the Compliance Monitoring function to address audit findings, corrective actions and matters affecting company approvals
  • Attend Engineering and Compliance Monitoring meetings, representing the maintenance function and providing updates on performance and progress
  • Ensure engineering facilities are maintained to the required regulatory and operational standards
  • Support Line Maintenance coverage for contracted customers, including out of hours requirements where necessary
  • Manage staff performance, development plans, objectives and personal development reviews
  • Support disciplinary matters in conjunction with senior management and HR
  • Promote a strong safety culture, including Human Factors, Human Performance and Just Culture principles
  • Ensure engineering documentation and maintenance records are completed accurately and in accordance with regulatory requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aircraft maintenance with proven experience in an engineering management or senior maintenance leadership position.

  • Previous experience managing aircraft maintenance teams
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience across Line and/or Base Maintenance
  • Proven people management and leadership experience
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • A strong understanding of safety, compliance and quality within aircraft maintenance
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to work with engineers, customers, senior management and regulatory stakeholders
