CNC OPERATOR - MILLING - £17.92 PER HOUR - KIRKBYMOORSIDE, NORTH YORKSHIRE - SECTOR: PRECISION MANUFACTURINGWorking Pattern & Shift StructureDuring the initial training period (approximately 6-9 months), candidates will work: Monday to Thursday / Friday equivalent pattern7:00am - 5:30pmFollowing successful completion of training an increase in salary will be made and employees can move onto one of the following shift patterns: Option 1 - 4 On / 4 Off Day Shift11-hour shifts£35 per day shift upliftOption 2 - 4 On / 4 Off Night Shift11-hour shifts£50 per shift upliftThe OpportunityAn established precision engineering manufacturer is seeking a skilled CNC Miller / CNC Machinist to join its growing machining team. This position focuses primarily on CNC milling operations within a fast-paced, high-quality manufacturing environment producing precision components.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maximising machine utilisation, maintaining quality standards, and supporting efficient production output across a range of CNC machining activities.
Key ResponsibilitiesSetting and operating high-speed CNC milling machines to carry out precision machining operations including milling, drilling, tapping and grindingOperating and supervising additional machine shop equipment where requiredEnsuring all tooling, fixtures and CNC programs are prepared and available prior to productionMaintaining accurate production records including component quantities and scrap reportingTaking ownership of component quality and ensuring work is completed to specificationReading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specificationsCarrying out basic program edits and tool offset adjustmentsMonitoring, replacing and maintaining tooling and cuttersPreparing and loading raw materials and components onto machinesChecking and maintaining coolant and lubricant levelsWorking with 3-axis and 4-axis CNC machining centres and Renishaw probing systemsFollowing all company health & safety procedures and manufacturing protocolsSupporting continuous improvement and maintaining high production standards throughoutCandidate RequirementsThe ideal candidate will have: Previous experience operating CNC milling machinery within a precision engineering or manufacturing environmentExperience with high-speed CNC machining centresUnderstanding of 3-axis and 4-axis machining processesExperience using Renishaw probing systemsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityGood organisational and communication skillsA proactive and reliable approach with the ability to work to production deadlines
