You'll be supporting the Transport function, acting as a key point of contact for customers and working closely with Transport Planning and external hauliers to ensure deliveries run as smoothly as possible. • Responding to customer Transport enquiries via telephone and email, providing a professional and efficient service.
  • Coordinating customer enquiries relating to estimated delivery times (ETAs) and Proof of Delivery (POD), ensuring information is linked to the relevant customer orders.
  • Liaising with external hauliers on a daily basis regarding customer deliveries, ETAs and any issues or changes.
  • Coordinating redeliveries where customer orders have been turned away for either internal or external reasons.
  • Ensuring appropriate storage charges are applied to delayed customer orders.
  • Monitoring the yard list on a weekly basis, helping to ensure goods are delivered to customer sites as quickly as possible.
  • Working closely with Transport Planning on a daily basis to ensure deliveries are completed in line with customer requirements and expectations.
  • Liaising with the Aftercare team where required.
  • Maintaining accurate customer, order and delivery information across internal systems.
  • Providing wider administrative support to the Transport and Customer Experience teams where required.

The experience you'll bring:

  • Previous experience within Transport Administration, Logistics Administration or a similar position.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a confident and professional telephone manner.
  • Strong administration and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively within a busy environment and manage changing priorities.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using internal systems.
  • A positive attitude towards learning and developing within the role.

And this is what you'll get in return:

  • Salary: £25,428 rising to £26,895

  • Ongoing training and development
  • Contributory Pension
