Yolk Recruitment is supporting a leading global manufacturer within the construction and building products sector with the recruitment of a Regional Technical Sales Manager to support continued growth across the commercial and industrial refurbishment market. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who understands roofing, cladding, façades, building envelope or commercial refurbishment and can identify opportunities within existing commercial and industrial buildings.

This role is about proactively identifying buildings and customers with a refurbishment requirement, understanding the condition and commercial opportunity, and developing a suitable solution encompassing roofing, cladding and wider building-envelope products.

Candidates could come from a Business Development, Technical Sales, Refurbishment, Roofing/Cladding, Surveying or commercially focused Quantity Surveying background - the key is having strong knowledge of the refurbishment/building-envelope market alongside the commercial ability to identify and develop new opportunities.

This is a field-based regional role covering South Wales and the South West as far down as Cornwall.

This is what you'll be doing:

  • Proactively identify commercial and industrial buildings with roofing, cladding or wider building-envelope refurbishment requirements.
  • Develop new business opportunities across the refurbishment market, targeting existing and ageing commercial/industrial building stock.
  • Engage with building owners, end users, contractors, surveyors, consultants and other key decision-makers to understand current building condition and future requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to provide roof replacement, roofing and cladding refurbishment and wider building-envelope solutions.
  • Work with customers and internal technical teams to understand existing issues and develop appropriate technical and commercially viable refurbishment solutions.
  • Take opportunities from initial identification and customer engagement through survey, scope, proposal and commercial negotiation.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce additional energy-focused building solutions alongside the core refurbishment offering where appropriate.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of refurbishment projects across your geographical territory.
  • Develop relationships with roofing and cladding contractors, subcontractors and other industry partners to generate opportunities and strengthen market presence.
  • Provide customers with technical and commercial guidance, drawing upon internal expertise where required.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements while protecting project margin and overall profitability.
  • Work closely with internal Technical, Commercial, Manufacturing and Operational teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor market activity and identify geographical areas, sectors and existing building stock offering strong refurbishment potential.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunity pipelines, forecasts and commercial reporting.
  • Represent the business at customer meetings, industry events and relevant networking opportunities.

The experience you'll bring:

  • Experience within either Roofing, Cladding, façades or building-envelope refurbishments on Commercial/ Industrial buildings.
  • A strong understanding of how commercial refurbishment projects are identified, scoped, commercially developed and delivered.
  • The ability to recognise potential opportunities within existing commercial and industrial buildings and convert these into viable projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with experience discussing project scope, costs, value and commercial proposals.
  • Confidence building relationships with customers, contractors, building owners and other project stakeholders.
  • The ability to develop new business proactively, rather than relying solely on existing accounts or incoming enquiries.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to understand technical construction products and solutions without necessarily needing to be an Engineer.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel throughout your territory.

We're open to candidates from several different backgrounds. You could currently be working within Business Development, Technical/ Specification Sales, Quantity Surveying, Estimating, provided you have relevant experience within the refurbishment/building-envelope market.

And this is what you'll get in return:

  • Salary up to £80,000 depending on experience, negotiable for the right person.
  • Performance-related bonus up to 10% of annual salary.
  • Tesla company car, laptop, mobile.
  • Remote and flexible working.
  • Private healthcare.
  • Life assurance.
  • Contributory pension.
  • 24 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.
  • Excellent training and development opportunities.
  • Long-term career progression within a global organisation.
  • Opportunity to develop business across a rapidly growing UK and European market.

Are you ready to make an impact? This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Technical Sales professional who understands the building envelope market and enjoys developing relationships, influencing specifications and identifying new commercial opportunities. You'll have the autonomy to develop a growing market, build relationships with key decision makers across the UK and Europe and play a significant role in the continued growth of the Data Centre sector.
