We're looking for a Finance Manager to lead our day-to-day finance operations from our Central Cardiff office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys developing people, improving processes and ensuring financial controls are delivered to the highest standard.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll take ownership of the transactional finance function, leading a team responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management and other core finance operations. You'll ensure the smooth running of the department while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, controls and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop the transactional finance team, creating a high-performance culture.
- Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash management and financial processing activities.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end close activities relating to transactional finance.
- Monitor team performance, workloads and KPIs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, implementing more efficient finance processes and controls.
- Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders across the business.
- Support audits and assist with wider finance projects as required.
- Deputise for senior finance leadership where appropriate.
About You
We're looking for someone who combines strong people management skills with solid technical finance experience. You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience as an Accounting Manager, Finance Operations Manager or Transactional Finance Manager.
- A strong background managing transactional finance teams.
- Experience overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and other finance operations.
- Excellent leadership and coaching skills with a passion for developing people.
- A proactive approach to improving processes and driving efficiencies.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- AAT qualified, part-qualified or fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) would be advantageous but is not essential, depending on experience.
