Yolk Recruitment are supporting a leading manufacturer with the recruitment of a Multi Skilled Shift Engineer for their site near Frome. Part of a successful international group behind some of the UK's best-known brands, the business has continued to invest heavily in its facilities and is experiencing strong growth. This is an opportunity to join a stable and well-established manufacturer offering excellent long-term prospects.
The Role
Working within the engineering team, you will be responsible for both reactive and planned maintenance activities across a range of process and packaging equipment, helping to maximise plant reliability and minimise downtime. Key responsibilities include:
- Responding to breakdowns and carrying out effective fault finding to return equipment to production.
- Performing planned preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance and continuous improvement activities.
- Supporting process and packaging machinery across the site.
- Completing work orders and maintaining accurate records using the CMMS system.
- Assisting with the development and improvement of preventative maintenance schedules.
- Supporting engineering projects and equipment improvements.
- Working closely with production teams to maximise machine performance and efficiency.
What We're Looking For
We are keen to speak with electrically or mechanically biased engineers with experience gained within food, FMCG or general manufacturing environments. Ideally you will have:
- A recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND or equivalent).
- Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems.
- Experience working on process or packaging machinery.
- Knowledge of motors, drives, pumps, pneumatics and automated equipment.
- Experience using CMMS systems.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Engineers with a stronger mechanical background who are looking to develop further on the electrical side are also encouraged to apply.
