Yolk Recruitment is supporting a leading aerospace manufacturing organisation with the recruitment of a Metrology Engineer to join their engineering team in Exeter. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled metrology professional to work within a highly advanced manufacturing environment, supporting the inspection and validation of precision aerospace components using state-of-the-art measurement technologies.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring products meet exacting customer and regulatory standards, working closely with engineering teams to develop inspection strategies, solve technical challenges, and support continuous improvement activities. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex aerospace components where accuracy, precision, and attention to detail are critical. You will be responsible for applying advanced measurement techniques, analysing inspection data, and supporting the wider manufacturing team to maintain the highest levels of product quality and performance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out dimensional inspection of aerospace components, tooling, and production parts using a range of measurement equipment.
  • Develop and implement measurement strategies to support manufacturing and engineering requirements.
  • Program and operate automated inspection equipment, including CMMs and non-contact measurement systems.
  • Produce First Article Inspection reports and technical documentation.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements to support inspection activities.
  • Support engineering teams with technical specification queries and measurement requirements.
  • Perform calibration and verification checks on measurement equipment to ensure ongoing capability.
  • Use CAD software to interrogate models and support inspection fixture and template design.
  • Work closely with internal teams and customers to resolve quality and dimensional issues.
