Reporting to the Quality Manager, you'll be responsible for carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspections across precision-machined components used within aerospace, defence and other advanced engineering environments. This is a practical, hands-on inspection role where you'll spend time on the shop floor, working alongside production teams to ensure components meet the highest quality standards before progressing through manufacture. You'll be trusted to use your knowledge, judgement and attention to detail to make informed inspection decisions while contributing to a collaborative and supportive quality function.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspections of precision-machined components.
  • Completing batch control and inspection sign-off activities.
  • Reading and interpreting third-angle engineering drawings, dimensions and tolerances.
  • Using a range of conventional metrology equipment, including:
    • Height gauges
    • Internal and external micrometers
    • Intrimics / ball micrometers
    • Slip gauges
    • Verniers and associated inspection equipment
  • Working closely with production teams to resolve inspection-related queries.
  • Helping to maintain high quality standards within aerospace and defence manufacturing.
  • Identifying non-conformances and ensuring components meet specification before release.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys problem-solving, has a keen eye for detail, and is confident making inspection decisions in a manufacturing environment. Whether you've built your experience in aerospace, defence, precision engineering or another highly regulated industry, you'll understand the importance of accuracy, consistency and continuous improvement. You'll be someone who enjoys working collaboratively while also being comfortable managing your own workload and using your initiative when required.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Previous experience as a Quality Inspector or Quality Technician.
  • Strong understanding of precision machining inspection processes.
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret third-angle engineering drawings.
  • Experience using conventional metrology equipment.
  • Comfortable working independently while supporting a wider production team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.

Desirable

  • CMM operating and/or programming experience.
  • Experience using Cameo, Zeiss or PC-DMIS software.
  • Previous aerospace or defence manufacturing experience.
  • Experience inspecting complex precision-machined components.

Why Join?

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a growing engineering business where quality is genuinely valued.
