Textile Process Expert

Highly competitive salary, dependent on experience

Relocation package available

Yolk Recruitment is supporting a well-established UK manufacturer of technical fabrics to recruit experienced Textile Process Experts to support the continued growth of the business, working to improve product quality and yield, strengthen process control and support the successful introduction of new products and technologies.

This is one of the South West's largest privately owned manufacturing businesses and supplies specialist materials into a number of critical and high growth markets. They have delivered consistent, profitable growth over many years and are now investing heavily in new machinery, improved manufacturing processes and expanded research and development capability. With a strong order book and plans to almost double turnover over the coming years, these appointments form an important part of the company's next stage of development.

These roles are suited to people with deep, practical knowledge of textile manufacturing. General process engineering experience alone will not be enough. You will need industry experience and will have knowledge in either slitting, drying, binding, blending or carding manufacturing processes.

What you’ll be doing

  • Acting as the technical expert for your area of the manufacturing process
  • Supporting production teams with process settings, materials, machinery performance and product behaviour
  • Investigating quality, yield and manufacturing performance issues
  • Identifying the root causes of process variation and implementing practical solutions
  • Improving process stability, consistency, throughput, yield and OEE
  • Developing and documenting best-practice operating methods
  • Working with experienced operators to capture and strengthen existing process knowledge
  • Supporting trials and the introduction of new products and materials
  • Providing technical input into machinery upgrades, capital investment and process changes
  • Supporting the commissioning, optimisation and troubleshooting of new equipment
  • Coaching operators, supervisors and engineers
  • Helping establish stronger technical standards across the site

What you’ll bring

  • Experience within textile or related manufacturing environments
  • A strong record of solving manufacturing, quality or process performance problems
  • Experience improving yield, process stability, throughput or equipment effectiveness
  • The ability to work confidently on the shop floor with operators, engineers and production leaders
  • Strong practical problem-solving skills, supported by data and technical judgement
  • Experience sharing knowledge, coaching others or developing technical capability
  • Experience supporting new products, materials, equipment or manufacturing processes

What’s on offer

An attractive salary and package and a senior technical role with genuine influence over manufacturing performance in an environment with significant investment!

If you have a strong background in textile manufacturing and experience in process, manufacturing, continuous improvement or asset optimisation, and want to use that expertise in a senior, hands-on role with real influence, apply now!
