Overview
Project Manager (PM) role at Yokogawa in Runcorn, United Kingdom. The PM plans, implements and delivers projects, identifies goals and challenges, tracks progress, and supervises project teams to achieve milestones. The PM acts as the intermediary between upper management and the project team, provides reports to the Senior Project Manager and senior stakeholders, and serves as the Yokogawa focal point for customers, end-users, suppliers, management, and the project team. The PM is responsible from contract hand-over from sales through project closing and handover to the Service organization.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement and deliver projects within schedule and budget, ensuring quality, profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Meet with senior management and clients to identify requirements, delivery timelines and costs.
- Communicate with team members and stakeholders; develop detailed project plans and revise as needed.
- Identify risks and take measures to prevent delays and budget overruns.
- Assign project tasks based on staff skills and strengths; monitor performance to ensure timely delivery.
- Prepare and submit project status reports to clients, management, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Designers, Developers, Quality, H&S, Procurement and other stakeholders for planning and documentation.
- Manage day-to-day project operations and act as a primary contact for the project.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in inventory control and process improvement.
- Working knowledge of project management software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word; Primavera P6 and FastDraft).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills; ability to work under pressure and make hard decisions to achieve project objectives.
- Knowledge of NEC4 (preferable under Options A, C and E) and PMBOK or PRINCE2.
- Understanding of CDM2015 roles of Principal Contractor and Principal Designer.
- Knowledge of NGT Policies, Procedures and Specifications (Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety).
Experience & Education
- Experience across the project lifecycle (initiation, planning, delegation, management and risk mitigation); client-facing experience is common in technical fields.
- At least a bachelor’s degree or relevant equivalent; industry-specific PM certifications are advantageous (e.g., PMP).

- Salary level dependent on experience.
- Standard hours: Monday–Thursday 8:30am–5:00pm, Friday 8:30am–4:30pm; flexibility to meet business needs.
