Job Purposes
The Product Management group has a key responsibility for the revenue and profit growth of the relevant products in the KBC technology business. As such, the post holder will be responsible for defining product vision, strategy, roadmap and requirements, and prioritize development activities in the best interests of KBC’s business.
The Product Management Senior Consultant is a key interface between customers and the various stakeholder groups. Based on detailed working knowledge of how users do their jobs, the product manager works closely with customers, internal stakeholders and development to maximize product value. In addition, the postholder must work to achieve effective design and documentation (functional/business value, usability, installability and deployment, manageability, guided help, etc.) to support the needs of the business.
The Post Holder Primary Objectives Are To
- Develop a product vision and strategy that converts customer business problems and use cases into detailed product requirements that realize value for customers and support the profitability and growth of the product line(s) and enables the development teams to accurately build high-impact products
- Support Inside and Outside Sales in sales process
- Create and deliver various technical materials, primarily targeted at Sales, Customer Support, Training and Services, to ensure overall company readiness for product releases and ongoing support
- Drive the product lifecycle management process, ensuring compliance, reproducibility, and process quality
- Support sales and marketing in the elaboration and execution of marketing and go-to-market plans for the product.
The post holder manages one or more scrum teams to transfer the product(s) vision to design, development, and delivery. Guides the project team through the product backlog toward building the right product, considering the vision, planning, and budgets of the business, customers, or use.
Responsibilities
- Digital Strategy/Transformational Projects Execution – Manage and deliver end-to-end digital programs and initiatives, leveraging agile and design-thinking principles to drive sustainable implementation.
- Product and Solution Development – Analyze and evaluate the feasibility and relevance of proposed complex products and services – and develop and amend as necessary with guidance from senior colleagues. May also be responsible for supervising activities performed by a product development or specialist team.
- Project Team Management – Lead a small to medium project team; communicates the project vision and outcomes needed along with guidance to achieve outcome, coordinates actions on project activities; coordinates flow of additional project members on and off the project team as needed; and identifies areas of improvement necessary to build the capability of the project team through training, coaching and mentoring.
- Digital Vision and Strategy – Conceptualize elements of digital strategy/digital-enabled business change projects. Develop approaches to programmatically deliver successful digital innovation engagements.
- Agile Release Planning – Plan and replan software releases for medium projects as they are produced to ensure timely updates and to deliver the planned benefits as early as possible in the project or program.
- Agile Backlog Management – Review the backlog of work for a small project and reprioritize the work and deployment of project resources to reduce costs and increase the value of the work delivered to the business.
- Product Management – Monitor specific aspects of a product life cycle, including long- and short-term development and marketing. Perform analyses on specific aspects to stay abreast of trends in the marketplace to ensure the product\’s competitive position.
- Horizon Scanning – Explore and develop a detailed understanding of external developments or emerging issues and contribute to the evaluation of their potential impact on, or usefulness to, the organization.
- Project Benefit Realization – Deliver baseline assessments and post-implementation analyses to evaluate and track the realization of business benefits.
- Culture of Innovation – Promote a culture of innovation by creating solutions that boost creativity, innovation, and collaboration, such as idea generation platforms, jam sessions, and hackathons.
- Project Risk and Issue Management – Identify and evaluate risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints associated with the project, escalating where appropriate. Where necessary, develop, agree on, and implement solutions to overcome these.
- Application Software Roadmap – Contribute to and maintain road map to facilitate application software development and ensure the development work is prioritized in line with business requirements.
- Performance Management – Develop and propose own performance objectives; take appropriate actions to ensure achievement of agreed objectives, using the organization\’s performance management systems to improve personal performance.
- Personal Capability Building – Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation where relevant to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an in-depth understanding of technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

Education

- Working knowledge of oil and gas industry with special focus on production monitoring and optimization
- Experience of production and flow assurance modelling
- Working knowledge of upstream production, process and flow assurance simulation software, e.g., Maximus, PIPESIM, OLGA, PROSPER/GAP, LedaFlow, Hysys, etc.
- Exposure to PDMS (production data management systems), data analytics, AI/ML
- Exposure to thermodynamics and phase behavior modelling with commercial software packages like Multiflash, PVTsim, Refprop etc.
- Exposure to client-facing roles (e.g., project management, business development, technical sales)
- Exposure to product management and marketing (beneficial but not essential)
