As part of a growing engineering organisation, we're seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to play a critical role in optimising manufacturing processes, supporting new product introduction activities and driving operational excellence throughout the production environment.

The Role

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will act as the manufacturing expert within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, providing leadership on process development, tooling solutions, risk mitigation and manufacturing strategy.

You'll work closely with design, quality, supply chain, production and facilities teams to ensure products are designed and manufactured efficiently, cost-effectively and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes.
  • Design and implement tooling, fixtures and manufacturing solutions.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing specifications and process documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production operations.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency, quality and yield while reducing waste and cost.
  • Lead manufacturing risk assessments and define mitigation strategies.
  • Support design reviews to ensure products are optimised for manufacture and assembly.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to improve component quality, manufacturability and delivery performance.
  • Analyse manufacturing data and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies across the organisation.
  • Lead problem-solving activities and root cause investigations.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and colleagues across the wider business.
  • Support strategic manufacturing initiatives and operational excellence programmes.

About You

We're looking for an experienced manufacturing engineer who enjoys solving complex production challenges and driving meaningful improvements in advanced manufacturing environments.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within a complex engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience developing and improving manufacturing processes.
  • Strong understanding of Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFM/A).
  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing risk assessment methodologies including PFMEA and DRBFM.
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including structured root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate independently and lead technical initiatives.
