An ambitious clean-tech company is on a mission to make innovative energy storage the global standard, enabling manufacturers, industrial processors, and heavy-energy users to decarbonise at scale.
As part of their growth, they’re looking for a Process Control Engineer to take ownership of the control logic, instrumentation, and system architecture behind a next-generation thermal energy storage steam generator. This is a pivotal opportunity to shape a first-of-its-kind industrial product as it moves through design, prototype optimisation, and deployment into real customer sites.
As Process Control Engineer, you will:
- Become the internal authority on control sequences, fluids system control, and instrumentation — guiding the operability, safety, and performance of a breakthrough energy system.
- Work across concept design, detailed engineering, prototype testing, and customer-site integration.
This is a rare opportunity to:
- Shape the full control architecture of a new industrial clean-energy product.
- Influence how the system operates, responds, and manages faults across all conditions.
- Work closely with fluids, mechanical, and automation specialists to ensure seamless system behaviour.
- Play a hands-on role in prototype optimisation and commissioning on real industrial sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the complete control logic and operating sequences for the thermal storage steam generator.
- Design high-level control strategies to maximise system operability, safety, and performance.
- Specify instrumentation and controls hardware including valves, VFDs, pressure/temperature sensors, flow meters, and safety devices.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience designing complete control sequences for complex or novel industrial systems.
- Strong knowledge of industrial fluids systems (valves, pumps, piping), ideally including steam processes, especially from a controls perspective.
- Strong knowledge of fluids instrumentation and control hardware.
Why Join
You’ll be part of a mission-driven, supportive team working toward a cleaner industrial future. Expect an informal, inclusive culture where every voice is valued. Flexible working, share options, and family-friendly policies are all part of the offering.
