The team is already made up of highly capable engineers. What they're looking for now is an experienced engineering leader who can develop people, improve engineering practices and help shape how software is delivered as the business continues to grow.
The Role
You'll be responsible for leading a team of software engineers, supporting their professional development and ensuring projects are delivered to a high technical standard. Working closely with technical specialists across software, FPGA, systems and algorithm development, you'll help drive engineering excellence by improving software development methodologies, delivery processes and team effectiveness. This is a leadership role with genuine influence. You'll have the opportunity to challenge existing ways of working, introduce improvements where appropriate and help scale the software engineering function.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience leading software engineering teams.
- A background in embedded software, high-performance computing or software closely coupled to hardware.
- Experience improving engineering processes, software delivery or development methodologies.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, Agile development and CI/CD practices.
- A collaborative leadership style, with the confidence to coach, challenge and hold people accountable where required.
- The ability to influence engineers and stakeholders and turn strategic objectives into clear, actionable plans.
- Wireless communications experience would be advantageous but isn't essential.
Why join?
- Lead a team of highly intelligent and motivated engineers.
- Influence how software engineering evolves within a growing technology business.
- Work alongside recognised experts in wireless communications, FPGA and systems engineering.
- Join a collaborative engineering culture where good ideas are encouraged and you'll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact.
