An innovative engineering organisation operating in advanced and challenging environments is seeking an Electronics Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and validation of electronic systems used in space or other harsh environments. This role is well suited to an engineer with at least 2 years’ industry experience who enjoys hands‑on electronics work, rigorous testing, and working to high reliability and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support electronic circuits and assemblies for use in harsh or mission‑critical environments
- Assist with schematic capture, PCB design support, component selection, and design reviews
- Carry out laboratory testing, debugging, and fault‑finding of electronic hardware
- Use electronic measurement and test equipment to validate designs and investigate issues
- Support environmental, qualification, and acceptance testing (thermal, vibration, radiation, etc.)
- Contribute to documentation including test procedures, reports, and design records
- Work closely with systems, mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams
- Support continuous improvement of designs, processes, and test methods
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Electronics Engineer or similar role
- Experience working on electronics for space, aerospace, defence, automotive, or other harsh environments
- Strong understanding of analogue and/or digital electronics
- Hands‑on experience using electrical measurement and test tools, such as: Multimeters, Logic analysers, Power supplies and signal generators
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation
- Practical, methodical approach to troubleshooting and fault diagnosis
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and reliability
- Experience supporting products through environmental or qualification testing
- Knowledge of EMC, signal integrity, or power electronics
- Familiarity with high‑reliability components and design practices
- Experience working to regulated or safety‑critical standards
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
