A specialist engineering organisation developing safety-critical systems is looking for a Software Engineer with commercial ADA and SPARK experience to join a team working on high-integrity software within highly regulated industries.
The environment is structured, technical and engineering-led.
Every requirement, every line of code and every test has a purpose.
The focus is on producing software that is predictable, reliable and demonstrably safe.
You’ll be involved throughout the software lifecycle, contributing to requirements, development, integration, verification and validation activities while working alongside experienced software, systems and test engineers.
The role would suit someone who has experience working within defence, aerospace, transport, rail or automotive environments, where software is developed against recognised safety and engineering standards.
- What they’re looking for
- Commercial experience developing software using ADA and SPARK.
- Strong understanding of the safety‑critical software development lifecycle.
- Experience across requirements, development and/or test.
- Exposure to safety‑critical or highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of standards such as IEC 61508, EN 50128, ISO 26262, DEF STAN 00-55 or DO-178.
- A methodical approach to problem‑solving and software quality.
- UK working rights, and the ability to gain BPSS security clearance.
