In this role, our Night Shift Manager plays a key role in driving the success of the operation. Leading a team of dynamic Warehouse Operatives, both employed and agency, you'll look after our people and processes to make sure that everything, and everyone, works perfectly.

The success of the night shift is very much down to the Night Manager. We rely on you to ensure that performance is high, and the team are ready to achieve KPIs and meet service level agreements. Ultimately, it'll be down to you to ensure the parcels enter the Service Centre smoothly, sorted and ready to be handed over to the AM Team the following morning.

You'll be accountable for overall performance to resources, managing budgets and reducing costs wherever you can. We will expect you to set higher standards across the board tackle any issues that crop up. This is a 24-hour operation and we need you ready to handle anything from planning shift rotations, to dealing with a late trailer arriving into the depot. Getting out there among your team, inspiring from the shop floor to keeping everyone motivated, happy and equipped to deliver our customer promises.

This role is challenging yet rewarding. You'll need to show us that you can build and maintain effective internal and external working relationships. Communication is key for the Night Shift Manager, being able to keep your colleagues informed so each one knows exactly what needs to be done and how they will achieve it. You'll be a quick thinker and ready to solve any problems that come your way. You'll upskill and train the team to be versatile. Ensuring the workforce is always engaged and motivated.

To be successful as a Night Shift manager, you'll ideally have warehouse and distribution experience within a parcel environment. You'll be responsible for managing change and looking for opportunities of continuous improvement. If you've got the right personality to lead a diverse team, you'll feel right at home here. It is desirable that you hold a minimum Level 3 Team Leader / Management NVQ equivalent or above.
