Over the past 25 years Taiko has launched more first to market Sushi and Food to Go products than any other sushi manufacturer in the UK.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in logistics, import/export, or supply chain management ideally within the FMCG or food manufacturing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, Incoterms, and customs clearance processes.
  • Experience managing third-party logistics providers and freight forwarders.
  • Proficiency in ERP/WMS systems and Excel-based data analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Continuous improvement mindset - experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is advantageous.

Role Overview

The Logistics Controller will take ownership of all import and export processes, ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of goods across international borders. This role will also play a key part in driving continuous improvement within the logistics and warehouse functions - optimising efficiency, reducing costs, and improving performance through data-driven KPI management and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all import and export operations, including documentation, customs compliance, freight forwarding, and liaising with suppliers and logistics partners.
  • Ensure all shipments comply with UK, EU, and international trade regulations and food safety standards.
  • Negotiate and maintain strong relationships with freight forwarders, hauliers.
