Tasks:
- Set up and operate lighting, sound, and other technical equipment for theatre productions, ensuring the show happens safely, professionally, and spectacularly.
- Collaborate with directors and production teams to ensure smooth technical execution of performances, both pre, post and during their show weeks.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of theatre equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in stage setup and breakdown, ensuring all technical aspects are ready for each show.
- Train and supervise volunteers or part-time staff in basic technical operations and safety procedures.
Requirements:
- Experience in technical theatre operations, including lighting & sound; stage management is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support performances and events.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively.
- Understanding of the environment in which YMCA Yorkshire Coast operates.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with performers, directors, and other team members.
- Commitment to YMCA Yorkshire Coast's values of community, creativity, and social responsibility.
Benefits:
- Holiday entitlement: 22 days plus bank holidays pro-rata.
- Salary: Grade 2, currently £12.71 per hour.
- Permanent Contract, Part-Time, Minimum Hours of 200 per annum but likely to be much more.
- Paid in arrears.
