Job Description
Are you a compassionate Night Owl, someone who thrives in the quiet hours, offering care and stability when it’s needed most? YMCA Wirral is searching for a dedicated Night Shift Worker to support some of our community’s most vulnerable individuals whilst they navigate crisis. In their darkest moments, you will be the steady presence offering reassurance, safety, and hope.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Providing essential support to people facing homelessness and crisis.
- Creating a safe, secure, and welcoming space during the night.
- Offering kindness, guidance, and a listening ear to those in distress.
- Handling challenging situations with a calm and measured approach.
- Conducting regular checks and safety rounds, maintenance and domestic tasks, ensuring a secure environment.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Someone with deep empathy for people experiencing hardship.
- A person who remains calm, compassionate, and resourceful under pressure.
- Someone with experience in health, homelessness, criminal justice or social care or other relevant experience.
- A team player with strong communication skills and basic IT knowledge.
- This role suits a person who has a Psychology degree or similar, or with a proven keen interest.
