About the role: We invite you to join our team as a Maintenance Operative at YMCA St Paul’s Group. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the safety and integrity of our properties. This full‑time position requires working across our property portfolio in areas such as Ealing, Walthamstow, East London, Surbiton, and more. Primarily based in one place, you will also be expected to travel to other sites as necessary. Your expertise in various maintenance trades, coupled with a steadfast commitment to health, safety, and compliance, will ensure our properties are well‑maintained and safe environments for our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repairs and Maintenance Execution: Perform repairs and maintenance in various trades while complying with health and safety standards.
  • Service Delivery Compliance: Ensure compliance and statutory obligations are met in all maintenance works, focusing on delivering high‑quality service.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform high‑quality repairs and maintenance, accurately logging arrival times, parts, and materials used.
  • Communication Skills: Interact effectively with customers, staff, and external contractors.
  • Property Portfolio Maintenance: Conduct repairs and maintenance tasks across the YMCA St Paul’s Group property portfolio as needed.
  • Cyclical Servicing and Repairs: Assist with cyclical servicing programs and repairs to meet targets, budget, and quality standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with a skilled team to enhance their contributions through cooperation and training.
  • Relationship Management: Manage relationships with contractors and public bodies to ensure workplace safety.
  • Safety Management: Take responsibility for property and building safety management within the YMCA’s East London portfolio, identifying risks and ensuring compliance with safety reports and legislation.
  • Training and Development: Engage in relevant training to remain compliant, improve technical skills, and undertake other training as recognised by the business.
  • Ambassador: Act as an ambassador for YMCA St Paul’s Group, ensuring that our customer’s and residents’ needs and wellbeing are at the forefront of all decision‑making.
