We believe everyone deserves a fair chance to discover who they are and what they can become. We are looking for someone who shares those values and wants to create services where young people feel safe, supported and empowered.
As we seek to enhance our existing services, we are introducing a new Housing Services Manager position for Commissioned Services, working across Mansfield, Ashfield and Nottingham City with our 16+ services. The focus for this role is to coordinate and oversee successful outcomes for our young people aged 16-23, ensuring they have access to education or employment, increase their independence skills and have access to quality accommodation. Our 16+ Commissioned Services are registered with Ofsted so you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Supported Accommodation Regulations as well as ensuring compliance with Contractual requirements.
This is a really varied role which will stretch you across day-to-day operations into strategic planning for the future.
Role Highlights
- Location: Working across our Mansfield, Ashfield and Nottingham locations
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week, predominately Monday to Friday.
This is an opportunity to lead a well-established service while influencing its future direction. You’ll have the autonomy to drive improvements, shape service delivery, build strong partnerships and make a lasting difference to young people’s lives.
On a day to basis, you can expect your role to include:
- Lead a team of 3 Housing Services Support Managers, ensuring they are meeting their KPI’s in line with the commissioned contracts with Nottinghamshire County Council and giving our young people all the support they require to achieve positive outcomes, using the homelessness outcome star framework.
- Manage and oversee safeguarding incidents including attending multi-agency meetings with Social Care and other statutory partners.
- Work closely with the Maintenance and Domestic teams to ensure properties are both turned around quickly for new residents but also are maintained to a high standard.
- Be pro-active in managing metrics and KPIs, ensuring your teams are working to high standards through completing regular quality audits of support plans, risk assessments and other KPI areas.
- Manage quarterly contract reviews with Commissioners including providing data and analysis around KPIs and ensuring compliance with the 16+ contracts.
- Ensure compliance with Supported Accommodation Regulations communicating with Ofsted as required.
This is a very varied role where truly, no two days are the same. You will be highly supportive of the teams that you directly and indirectly manage and look to bring everyone on the same journey of development and improvement; instilling a desire in everyone to do the very best they can to drive those positive outcomes for our young people.
You will be highly motivated to make a difference and a positive impact on the local communities our properties reside in, ensuring our young people can contribute, belong and thrive. You will also use your own personal drive and personality to build relationships with external partners and stakeholders to leverage services which may be of use to our young people, but also to explore community initiatives our young people can get involved with too.
About You
From a background in supported accommodation or children’s residential, you will be able to bring knowledge and understanding of supported accommodation regulations, the challenges our young people face as well as an awareness of the support that our young people can expect from other partner agencies. You will be motivated by your desire to make a positive impact on our young people and you will passionately share our belief that everyone should have a fair chance to discover who they are who they can become.
You will be self-motivated and driven to create continual development/process improvement. You will be a brilliant communicator; whether dealing with your staff or our young people, you will be able to inspire, engage and motivate. You will be confident in 1-2-1 communication and in group settings, able to represent your service area at team and wider organisation meetings.
You might already have team leadership skills from a previous role or looking to make that first step into management, we are happy to support your development. You will be supported to complete a Level 3 Housing qualification if you don’t already have this. We are ideally looking for someone with experience of working in housing management and/or children’s residential. Either through experience or qualification, you will have excellent knowledge of the welfare and benefits system, safeguarding, housing and homelessness legislation and Ofsted.
Possessing excellent conflict resolution skills, you will be a clear leader with excellent problem-solving skills, be passionate about best practice and driving continuous improvement at an individual and team level for performance. It is desirable that you have a full driving licence (as travel between our sites is required) but these can be accessed by public transport across Nottinghamshire.
