Are you interested in a new career in Supported Housing, learning how to support our residents and keep our building secure? Our Housing Duty Worker role might be the first step! As part of our dedicated housing provision for 16‑24 year old's based in Mansfield, we are looking for responsible, trustworthy and compassionate people to join our Support Housing team to oversee the smooth running of our building and give our residents all the support and care they require. This is your opportunity to be part of this from the very beginning!

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and assistance to residents, including advice, key replacement, rent collection, and tenant rights education.
  • Respond to fire alarms and act as the first point of call for incidents, including liaising with police and other agencies.
  • Manage crises and incident reporting.
  • Carry out facilities/domestic duties to maintain the upkeep of the building.
  • Support applications from prospective residents, helping with form‑filling and signposting to other agencies.
  • Handle security, fire safety, cleaning support and any other duties that may arise during shifts.

Shift Patterns

Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. We work on a 3‑week rolling rota with advance warning of shift patterns.

  • 7 am – 3 pm
  • 3 pm – 11 pm
  • 11 pm – 7 am

Shift patterns are fully accessible by public transport. Weekend Housing Officers cover weekends; overtime is optional.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience or interest in supported housing with vulnerable adults and young people aged 16‑24.
  • Understanding of the needs of young people who may have drug, alcohol and other issues.
  • Confidence to deal with difficult situations and handle conflict appropriately.

Key Skills

  • Work with minimal supervision, using initiative and working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
  • Deal with conflict, manage aggressive behaviour and diffuse situations effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to talk to people of all backgrounds and abilities.
  • Form and maintain professional relationships with appropriate boundaries.

Hours

37.5 hours per week.
