Are you interested in a new career in Supported Housing, learning how to support our residents and keep our building secure? Our Night Duty Worker role might be the first step! As part of our dedicated housing provision for 16‑25‑year‑old residents based in Goole, YMCA Robin Hood Group is looking for responsible, trustworthy and compassionate people to join our Support Housing team to oversee the smooth running of our building and give residents all the support and care they require.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and assistance to residents.
  • Provide keys or replacements where needed.
  • Collect rent payments and manage queries or charges relating to rent.
  • Ensure residents understand their tenant obligations, rights and responsibilities as outlined in the License Agreement.
  • Collect payments.
  • Provide first aid and respond to fire alarms.
  • Act as first point of call for incidents, including emergencies, and liaise with police and other agencies to prevent harm to residents and the building.
  • Manage crisis situations and report incidents.
  • Undertake facilities/domestic duties to maintain the upkeep of the building (if needed).
  • Support applications from prospective residents, assist with form filling and signpost other agencies that may help them.

Work Arrangement

Work 30 hours per week on a shift pattern over 7 days.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Ideally with experience or a strong interest in supported housing for vulnerable adults and young people aged 16‑25.
  • Understanding of the needs of young people who may have drug, alcohol or other issues.
  • Confidence in dealing with difficult situations and managing conflict.

  • Work with minimal supervision, use initiative, and work alone or as part of a team.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies.
  • Deal with conflict, manage aggressive behaviour and diffuse situations effectively.
  • Communicate well with people of all backgrounds and abilities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with appropriate professional boundaries, acting as a role model for residents.

This post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check (paid for by YMCA) and registration with the DBS Update Service. The role may be withdrawn before the closing date if the position is filled.
