YMCA Robin Hood Group is a not-for-profit charity that runs Residential Care Homes for children aged 5-18 years old. We run 5 homes across Nottingham, Newark, Selby and Goole. We are ready to welcome new children into our homes and are therefore looking for Residential Care Workers to join us to provide the vital care and support they deserve. Our 4 bed Selby home is based in YO8 and has parking available - due to the specific location of the home, you would need to drive to the home as you cannot get there by public transport.

If you have experience of working with children before either in a residential care setting or similar but are passionate about working with children, especially those who may have experienced adverse childhood experiences, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll do:
  • Work as part of a team to ensure the children are looked after 24/7.
  • Create a safe, loving, nurturing home.
  • Provide therapeutic care to help them navigate past trauma.
How we’ll support you:
  • A full training plan for your first 6 months.
  • Support to complete a fully funded level 4 qualification in Residential Childcare.
  • Monthly Supervision and ongoing support from the Management Team.
  • Career pathway to promotion.

  • Confidence – You’ll handle challenges, advocate for children, and be their voice.
  • Flexibility – You’ll work a rota of long days, evenings, sleep-ins, and weekends.
  • A driving license – A full UK licence is essential to use our home’s car for school runs and activities.
  • An enhanced DBS with child barred list check – if you aren’t on the update service, we will get you a new DBS.
