As a Skills Clinic Leader, you will help run the programme events, ensuring children are well looked after, engaged, supported and have fun. You will inspire young people to develop their own creativity, self‑esteem and respect for integrity, collaboration and equality.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver age‑appropriate activities for children aged 8‑15 during Camp Williams.
  • Lead sessions each morning, creating a positive and energetic environment.
  • Support children’s learning of new hobbies or sports and encourage participation.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in your care.
  • Maintain consistency by working whole weeks for each school holiday.
  • Assist in recruiting and developing a long‑term camp team.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience in coaching, teaching, or leading young people.
  • Interest or hobby in chess or other activities that can be introduced to children.
  • Passion for working with children and a desire to gain meaningful experience.
  • Over 18 years old.
  • Subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check (paid by YMCA) and registration with the DBS Update Service.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to gain substantial experience during the school holidays.
  • Flexible short‑term or long‑term positions following the Nottinghamshire County Council school holidays.
  • Working hours from 7:30 am to 6 pm, Monday‑Friday.
