Qualifications & Experience:
- Two or more years of post‑secondary education in Physical or Health Education or a related field and at least one year of related work experience, or a combination of education and experience
- Personal Training Certification
- Current Standard First Aid/CPR Level C certification
- Group Fitness Certification and experience a desired asset
- Excellent customer service skills
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Current and acceptable Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening – a condition of employment for all staff and volunteers
- Must be available to work evenings
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to YMCA of Southwestern Ontario policy and procedures
- Act as a YMCA ambassador, demonstrating YMCA core values in daily work
- Provide coaching, direction and demonstrate proper use of equipment and the expected outcome or benefit of such use on the fitness floor
- Conduct Wellness Coaching sessions and design individualized programs
- Monitor and supervise access and use of equipment within the weight room area
- Maintain and tidiness of the Health and Wellness Centre on a routine basis
- Perform highly physical tasks, including weight‑cleaning and moving equipment as required
