Summer camp is fun; that's a fact! As a staff member at our YMCA of Northern Colorado Day Camps, you'll participate in games, crafts, archery, nature discovery, team-building, and so much more! We're looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals who want to lead children through exciting activities and create an unforgettable summer camp experience. As a Program Leader at our day camp, you'll help foster a positive environment where campers engage in creative play, explore new activities, and develop valuable life skills. - Training: Required training will take place from May 19-23, 2025.
- No Weekends: Enjoy your weekends free!
- Seasonal Position: May 27th through August 8th, with opportunities to extend into school year programs (before and after school care).

Responsibilities
- Lead & Supervise: Independently lead and supervise children in small and large group activities, ensuring an engaging and fun camp experience.
- Facilitate Activities: Lead a variety of camp activities, including games, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures, team-building exercises, and more.
- Ensure Safety: Follow YMCA program standards, including safety protocols, cleanliness standards, and emergency procedures.
- Team Collaboration: Provide leadership and support to Program Aides and Volunteers, ensuring everyone works together to create a positive camp experience.
- Positive Guidance: Practice positive guidance and preventative discipline techniques, using natural consequences in accordance with YMCA policies and expectations.
- Communication: Maintain open, friendly, and professional relationships with staff, parents, campers, and community members. Ensure clear communication with your supervisor regarding any issues or needs.
- Record Keeping: Assist with maintaining attendance records, participant files, and other documentation.
- Attend Trainings & Meetings: Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other required events.
- Be Flexible & Reliable: Be on time for all shifts and be adaptable to accommodate unexpected schedule changes, including full days if needed.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Previous experience working with children in a recreational, educational, or leadership role is preferred.
- Provide documentation of 480 hours of experience working directly with school-age children in such areas as Sunday school, Scouts, or sports.
- Become certified or supply documentation of current certification in CPR and First Aid (can be complete through the YMCA).
- Enthusiastic, responsible, and dependable.
- Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative.
- Comfortable leading a variety of camp activities, including outdoor games, arts and crafts, and team-building exercises.
- Strong communication skills with both children and adults.
