Description
Under the supervision of the Head Swim Coach, this position is assists with swim team practices and swim meets as needed. Nights and Sundays required.
- Must have active Lifeguard Certifications. (ex. YMCA, Red Cross)
Key Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES:
- Provide quality and consistency in all assigned workouts throughout all levels of ability.
- Attend meets and practices as needed.
- Write and implement workouts for each practice as instructed by head coach.
- Maintain a professional image and manner consistent with the YMCA mission and goals at all times.
- Engage in active listening with members in order to build relationships, understand each individual’s goals and interests and take the initiative to assist in the achievement of those goals.
- All other duties as assigned.
- At least 18 years of age.
- No experience necessary, training to be completed on site. Competitive swimming or coaching experience a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Physically and verbally able to interact with members and staff.
- At times, be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
- Primarily evening and weekends, some weekends will require early morning practices or meets.
- Travel will be necessary to meets and potentially practice sites.
