We are seeking a proactive and dedicated individual to join our Risk Directorate as a Safety and Compliance Supervisor located in North Tyneside. What Will You Be Doing?

As the Safety and Compliance Supervisor, you will lead a dedicated team of Safety and Compliance Officers to ensure our residential properties meet and exceed all regulatory standards.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Leadership & Team Support: Managing and mentoring your team, planning workloads, and acting as a deputy to the Health & Safety and Compliance Manager.
  • Inspections & Audits: Conducting thorough property inspections (gas, electricity, fire safety, asbestos, water) and performing quality control audits on team reports.
  • Compliance Management: Acting as a subject matter expert on safety legislation, collaborating with external regulatory partners, and tracking certification data.
  • Repairs & Analysis: Coordinating with property management to issue repair orders, signing off on high-risk remedial works, and presenting trend analyses to the Senior Management Team.

What Skills and Experience Do You Need?

To be successful in this vital role, it is essential that you have:

  • An NVQ Level 4 in a relevant subject (or equivalent senior-level experience) AND a NEBOSH Health & Safety Qualification.
  • Expert knowledge of compliance management, statutory servicing programs, and housing obligations within social housing or a similar sector.
  • In-depth experience in at least one key compliance area (e.g., fire, gas, electric, legionella).
  • Proven experience managing challenging conversations, building collaborative partnership relationships, and leading teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
