YMCA Norfolk is expanding its HR function, and we’re excited to welcome a new HR Advisor who will help us deliver exceptional support across the organisation. We’re offering flexible working between 30–37.5 hours per week, with Monday and Friday as required working days, giving you the balance you need while ensuring great team collaboration.
You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of HR activities, from hands‑on recruitment and onboarding to coaching managers, advising on employee relations, supporting HR projects and shaping policy. No two days will be the same - and you’ll have plenty of opportunity to grow your skills.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering high‑quality HR support across the organisation
- Managing recruitment activity and ensuring an excellent candidate experience
- Carrying out pre‑employment checks and supporting the onboarding journey
- Offering clear, appropriate HR advice to staff and managers
- Supporting employee relations cases, with guidance from senior HR colleagues
- Maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring GDPR compliance
- Contributing to HR projects, continuous improvement and culture‑building initiatives
- Promoting an inclusive, positive and collaborative working environment
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in an HR role, ideally at Officer level
- Strong background in recruitment and onboarding
- Experience supporting employee relations matters
- A warm, engaging and bubbly personality - someone who brings positive energy to the team
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, approachable manner
- Strong organisational skills and great attention to detail
- Ability to build strong relationships and work proactively
- A genuine desire to develop and grow professionally
Qualifications & Requirements
- CIPD Level 3 (or willingness to work towards it)
- Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Confident using HR systems and Microsoft Office
- Full driving licence and access to transport
- Ability to work flexibly and occasionally outside normal hours
