YMCA Heart of England are looking for a Lead Worker to join the team based in Erdington, Birmingham. The successful candidate will join on a full‑time fixed‑term basis until 30th November 2029. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £29,211 per annum.
YMCA Heart of England is a Christian charity providing a range of life‑changing services for the local community. With a turnover of over £4m, we house over 300 young people, most of whom were previously homeless, and support them to get their lives back on track. About The Lead Worker Role
We expect you to effectively access and implement a programme of support within the Adult Social Care framework. Your responsibilities include:
- Processing and assessing applications for housing and performing void checks.
- Supporting the team to deliver a high‑quality rent collection and arrears recovery service.
- Maintaining accurate records using our internal support and housing management system.
- Handling resident issues, such as anti‑social behaviour.
About You
We are looking for someone with experience in housing management or supported housing and income management or debt recovery/collection, preferably in a social housing environment, and a working knowledge of housing issues and legislation, especially pertaining to homelessness. Excellent communication skills are required, including listening, questioning, and influencing when necessary.
