Join Our Team at One YMCA as a Young Person’s Housing Support Officer! Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Do you have a background in youth work, social services, or working with young people? One YMCA is seeking four dedicated individuals for a new Supported Accommodation Team in Watford where we will provide essential housing support to Separated Migrant Children, helping them transition from dependence to independence.

As a Young Person’s Housing Support Officer, you will be part of a dynamic team providing personal counselling, support, and enablement to residents with various support needs, including mental health issues, trauma, and life skills. Your role will involve developing individualised support plans, conducting risk assessments, and actively engaging with residents to maximize the benefits of their stay.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Empowering residents to achieve independence.
  • Supporting residents in decision-making and goal-setting.
  • Collaborating with external agencies and professionals.
  • Organising activities and training to promote positive behaviour and development.
  • Promoting and maintaining optimal occupancy levels.

An Enhanced Disclosure is required for this position. This role involves flexible shift working hours, including some weekend hours, to meet the needs of our service users. The rota includes one week of early shifts from 8am to 4pm, followed by a week of late shifts from 12pm to 8pm. This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, with a varied working pattern across 7 days, including bank holidays.
