Youth Services Quality Manager – YMCA England & Wales
Location: Newtown Community Centre; some travel to partner sites in Southampton, Basingstoke and the Isle of Wight. Hours: 40 hours per week. Salary: £30,000 per annum.

Job Purpose
Based in the heart of the local Newtown Community, the Youth Services Quality Manager will drive community engagement and the quality of our Youth Services. This dual role will manage the Newtown Community Centre, ensure strong local engagement and that the venue is used appropriately, and lead the quality agenda for young people engaging with our youth services, promoting their employability across all of our Youth Services Housing sites.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Newtown Youth Centre
- Provide management oversight of the Newtown Youth Centre, including bookings, invoices, payments and ensuring customers have information and support for their usage.
- Create a safe, welcoming environment that encourages the local community to use Newtown as their community hub.
- Develop and maintain local partnerships and co-produce activities with the local community, partner organisations and others.
- Take ownership for managing the building, working with internal and external partners to keep the Youth Centre fully operational.
- Develop and deliver programmes and initiatives that meet budget projections and income targets.
Programme Quality Management
- Collaborate with service leads to understand the needs of young people related to Community Engagement and Employability.
- Partner with local organisations to create community engagement opportunities, including volunteering and work experience programmes.
- Develop and roll out an employability programme focused on getting young people into employment and thriving beyond YMCA accommodation; review and improve existing offerings and introduce new programmes.
- Ensure ongoing quality compliance of programmes and address gaps with action plans.
Some travel to partner sites and other locations may be required. Flexible working hours may be needed, with occasional evening and weekend work, including out-of-hours management support.

Qualifications/Experience

- At least 3 years’ experience of senior or strategic programme design, development and delivery for young adults.
- Ability to work to budgets.
- Good IT knowledge (Windows, Word, Excel); training available for nursery software.
- Mentoring and coaching skills.
