Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Family Support Worker (non-case holding) to support the management of the Reigate and Banstead Family Centres. The ideal candidate should be organized, possess excellent IT skills, and have good communication and interpersonal skills. Job Purpose:

To provide focused 1-1 and group family support for families with children and young people aged 0-19 years old (up to 25 years for young adults with additional needs). Support will be delivered at the Family Centre, in the community, or in service users’ homes. The post holder will work as a lone worker, supporting the delivery of the Family Support Specification to help children and families achieve improved outcomes.

Hours of Work:

28 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. Flexible options available.

Annual Leave:

Five weeks plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time workers). Holidays increase after two years’ service to a maximum of six weeks after six years’ service. The holiday year runs from 1 April to 31 March.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Allocate new cases on EHM and oversee safeguarding concerns in the absence of the Manager.
  • Liaise with YMCA Senior DSLs as required.
  • Make difficult decisions and communicate effectively with team members and parents.
  • Complete escalations on EHM following YMCA’s Senior DSL guidance.
  • Update DSL training in accordance with safeguarding procedures.
  • Support the Manager in overseeing management oversight tasks such as allocations, closures, escalations, supervisions, and audits.
  • Assist the Manager in meeting KPIs and targets by working with Family Support Workers.
  • Collaborate with partners and groups across the district to share information and develop services.
  • Lead on a specialist area to support team development and skill enhancement.
  • Provide family support using interventions like motivational interviewing, solution-focused approaches, and accredited parenting strategies.
  • Deliver evidence-based 1:1 parenting programmes, record observations, and evaluate outcomes.
