Overview

Fundraising Officer at YMCA Dulverton Group. Salary: £28,083.62 (FTE) per annum | Hours: 16 hours per week | Contract: Permanent

Responsibilities

  • Fundraising: host a number of fundraising events annually to assist unrestricted income and raise profile.
  • Develop new revenue sources through appropriate business or community partnerships.
  • Work with fundraising groups and supporters to encourage long-term support and fundraising.
  • Provide supporters with a wide range of fundraising options and collaborate with YMCA DG.
  • Build effective and long-lasting relationships with donors, fundraisers and corporate partners.
  • Identify and pursue new sources of potential corporate income.
  • Liaise with local businesses to raise profile and promote sponsorship, volunteering and other support.
  • Gather and disseminate funding information from weekly bulletins, updates and online resources.
  • Assist with research, writing and tasks on large-scale bids and tenders as required.
  • Compile and send information packs to potential donors and supporters to raise YMCA DG’s profile.
  • Administration and Communication: report on fundraising progress against targets; compile statistics and maintain financial records; keep timely donor activity records.
  • Deliver effective presentations at fundraising events, meetings or public places.
  • Provide fundraising content and activities to the Head of Marketing and Communications for promotion.
  • Provide high-quality donor care through acknowledgement and relationship building.
  • Review web pages for appeals and events with the Head of Marketing and Communications; make improvements as needed.
  • Support press releases and liaise with press at events; contribute to social media during fundraising events.
  • Engage stakeholders through advertising, direct mail, events and new media campaigns.
  • Review and edit fundraising materials for marketing effectiveness.
  • Develop strong relationships with a wide range of contacts to ensure ongoing support.

Main Requirements / Qualifications

  • Fundraising qualification or relevant experience (at least 2 years).
  • Experience of working to budgets and plans.
  • Knowledge of all social media platforms.
  • Experience of the voluntary or not-for-profit sector.
  • Proven track record of fundraising initiatives and successes.
  • Demonstrable understanding and up-to-date knowledge of fundraising strategies.

  • Self-starter with enthusiasm and creativity.
  • Able to engage audiences using a range of communication tools.
  • Direct marketing skills – devising and delivering social media and print campaigns.
