Sessional Youth Engagement Facilitator in Brighton

Flexible, term-time role offering a minimum of 3 hours per fortnight at £16.32 per hour, with opportunities to increase your hours by supporting multiple schools across our network of 10 schools. Sessions take place during school hours on the same day and time each fortnight, with schedules arranged to fit around facilitators’ existing commitments.

A fantastic opportunity for a Youth Engagement Facilitator to help bring youth participation to life across schools and colleges in Brighton & Hove. As part of our Youth Engagement Team, you will deliver engaging sessions in primary schools, secondary schools and colleges, supporting young people to improve mental health and wellbeing, amplify their voices, and drive meaningful change that benefits the wider school community.

This flexible sessional role offers the opportunity to deliver Schools Mental Health Champion sessions during school hours, with working days and hours tailored to the number of schools you support. The programme runs annually from September to July, with a minimum commitment of around three hours per week and additional hours available for those able to support multiple schools.

As a Sessional Facilitator, you will work with the same cohort of students throughout the academic year, delivering 8–10 sessions per school between September and July. Your role will be to empower young people to champion mental health, strengthen student voice, and lead positive changes that improve wellbeing within their school community.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about youth participation and committed to ensuring that young people’s voices are heard and valued. The successful candidate will have experience of working directly with young people, facilitating youth groups and/or youth-led projects, and confidently delivering engaging face-to-face sessions.

You will have a good understanding of the mental health and wellbeing challenges that can affect young people, alongside demonstrable experience of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
