We are looking for enthusiastic, honest and hardworking leaders to join our teams in Somerset. As of April 2024 we will be continuing our work in partnership with Somerset Council to deliver a new contract providing a key service of supported accommodation for young people aged 16 - 24.

You will work collaboratively with and lead staff teams to build professional, positive and trusting relationships with young people, colleagues and other relevant agencies. This role involves modelling, developing and encouraging positive behaviours to young people and team members to ensure that young people can manage their accommodation effectively, whilst fostering and working towards a sustainable, long-term positive outcome.

We are growing and extending our passionate Young Persons' Housing team in Somerset and are keen to find people who really believe in young people and their potential and who are motivated to make a real difference for young people and communities.

Creating professional, positive and trusting relationships are key to working with every young person, in order to provide a supportive environment where they can make steps to move on to greater independence and achieve goals that matter to them. Team Leaders play an instrumental role in ensuring teams work effectively and consistently together to achieve the best outcomes for young people whilst striving to improve the standards of support and engagement young people receive.

If you're ready to make a real impact and facilitate transformative change, we look forward to receiving your application.

Whilst there are systems in place to support you, a substantial part of the role includes the ability to lone work. Therefore, we require someone competent and confident when working alone and somebody who is able to understand and work with complex and challenging behaviours, appropriately.

At YMCA Dulverton Group, we are not just a charity; we are a dynamic and vibrant local community committed to fostering supportive, inclusive, and empowering environments. Our mission is to cultivate communities where young people can authentically belong, actively contribute, and truly thrive.

We deliver life changing services to over 10,000 children, young people and families across Somerset and Devon every year. We focus on 6 key areas of work, including Support and Advice, Housing, Family and Youth Work, YMCA Gym, Training and Education and Our Hotels.

We regularly adapt our services to help ensure we meet the needs of our community and the strategic priorities of the local authority. We strive to provide a consistent supply of high-quality housing and effective support.

Our employees are on board with our constantly evolving organisation, and are dedicated to changing the lives of those who utilise our services. If the prospect of contributing to youth development, fostering positive community impact, and making a meaningful difference resonates with you, we would like to learn more about how your skills and passion align with our mission, aim and values.
